Ellie has performed worldwide with artists such as Goldfrapp, Lana Del Rey, The Specials, Brian Wilson, Ellie Goulding , Jamie Cullum and Yasmin Levy. She has performed live on Radio and TV, including Live at Madia Vale with, Rumer and The Specials, Radio 1 Live Lounge, BBC Radio 2 Dermot O'Leary, Ken Bruce and Jo Whiley and Friday night is Music Night. Ellie has played with Stereophonics, Muse, Goldfrapp and Spiritualized on Later with Jools Holland and on TV shows such a Graham Norton, Jonathan Ross, TFI Friday and MTV.
Ellie has also worked and recorded with Britten Sinfoinia, BBC Concert Orchestra, the Gabrielli Consort, Paul Weller, Elton John, Adele, Placebo, Jay- Z, The Script, Ed Harcourt, Ocean Colour Scene, Ellie Goulding, MNEK, Noel Gallagher , Duke Dumont, Band of Skulls and Spiritualized amongst others.
Ellie attended the Royal Academy of Music, graduating with a Postgraduate Distinction, during which time she studied with Maurice Hasson and Howard Davis and was the recipient of the “Winfred Disney Scholarship”, “John B. McEwen Prize” and the “Robert Rendell Memorial Award”.
Ellie is a dynamic violinist who has the ability and versatility to peform in many genres of music, from Classical to pop with a dash of World music . Born into a musical family Ellie started the violin at an early age and enjoys a varied career performing with her sisters and cellist Jess Cox in Q Strings. A string group formed around a classically trained quartet. Q Strings has given world premieres of works by composers such as Harrison Birtwhistle, Peter Copley and Gerald Busby, they are also ambassadors for Bridge Instruments, and play on custom made Golden Tasman Elecro/ Acoustic instruments.
